Basic School
Developing life's foundational skills

The basic school is defined by three values – courage,  developing foundational skills and growth. The curriculum is comprehensively designed to expose all students to a variety of subjects as they begin to identify the interests. To further develop the academic, social and emotional life of students, the department runs specially designed programs that are targeted towards creativity, technology and language/literature.

The mandatory STEM classes outside of the regular computing lessons begin in Basic 4 where all students begin to deepen their understanding of how technology permeates the 21st century. The STEM lessons result in a yearly showcase of projects. Reading and literacy programs are also significant within the department with programs that develop the skills of communication, teamwork and learning.
